7 DEADLY SINS
WITCHES
AND TEMPTATIONS: Stories
and Cautionary tales
An original penny dreadful
For the children of today
Hello little ones
and welcome to the first issue of the 7 deadly sins penny dreadfuls. Parents please
be aware that penny dreadfuls originate from the Victorian era but these ones
are actually child friendly and teach children about sin in a safe way. Although
there are horror stories here they are all fiction today.
This is my first
time writing a penny dreadful and I do hope to improve and just a note to
adults and children alike, remember to be the best person you can be.
CHAPTER ONE: The pride of
Sarah Goode
Back in Salem Sarah Goode
was said to be a witch, she was said to be old and haggard and cruel to little
girls, she was proud of her wickedness and would eat little girls for dinner
and she would turn little boys into toads as well. Lucky the witchfinder found
her and sent her off to hell. She consorted with the devil and demons as well.
The poor little children
were too afraid to tell.
It is said that
Sarah Goode finds the unrepentant children, that commit the sin of pride and takes
them on a ride on a broomstick never to be seen again.
CHAPTER TWO: THE ENVY OF DOROTHY GOODE
Dorothy Goode was
the four year old daughter of Sarah Goode but little Dorothy was anything but
good for she held the sin of envy and was cruel to other girls she would bite
and bite and fright them and claw at their pretty curls, it is said that if you
commit envy Dorothy will reappear and she will whisper in your ear and make you
do evil deeds but if you repent then she will flee and in the night alone you’ll
be.
CHAPTER THREE: THE GLUTTONY
OF SAMUAL PAYNE
Poor Sarah Payne had
a brother she looked after yet despite her best efforts Samual was a glutton He
would eat all the food and He would steal from the neighbours, yet poor Sarah
had to take the blame for she was a girl.
She was burnt at the
stake and God showed mercy on her soul yet she on earth did remain to take vengeance
and a toll so for little children who’s sin is Gluttony the bible I suggest you
read unless you want poor Sarah to visit you and only cabbage to you she shall
feed.
CHAPTER FOUR: THE GREED OF
THOMAS AND DAISY
Thomas and Daisy
were not just lazy they were greedy to0. Despite their mothers’ best efforts

boys and Daisy would make the girl next door do her daily chores, for daisy was
so lazy she would never help her mother and would sometimes just get up to help
her naughty brother steal from the wagon man and spit on little girl ribbons,
until their mother decided to throw them in the oven and send them to the lord,
as their father looked on and seemed to be very bored.
CHAPTER FIVE: THE LUST OF
LUELLA AND LUKE
The news of the lust
of Luella and Luke spread like wildfire in Salem as a stillborn child was born
out of wedlock and this was a sign of witchcraft in this time period, surely
they should have at least been married within gods eyes but they were not and
so the baby haunted their minds until they ended up in an asylum across the
country for the rest of their days
CHAPTER SIX: THE WRATH OF EDMUND
MURRAY
Of course we should
listen to our husbands and we must be rightly disciplined but our husbands are
there to protect us and not harm us, Mr Edmund Murray was claimed by the demon
of drink and he hurt his wives feelings all the time when she did no wrong, yet
She would never question him for fear of being called a Witch, eventually out of
sadness she went to heaven but everyone knew Edmund was to blame and of course
he was arrested and that evening before trial he mysteriously disappeared
